No results on the ATP or ITF sites yet, but the OoP for tomorrow implies James lost to Malouli (a real pity given that he beat a seed in R1 and, indeed, all of the seeds in the bottom quarter lost in R1) and, moving to 8 Oct rankings (at last!):

I presume you were really meaning all the seeds in the bottom half lost in R1, as indeed they did.  James was the highest ranked player ( well based on last week's rankings anyway ) left in the bottom half going into R2  cry

Oops, yes, bottom half - and of course being the highest-ranked unseeded player in the first place, he must have been the highest-ranked player left in the bottom half as you said.
