WD R2: WATSON, Heather/DATE-KRUMM, Kimiko (GBR/JPN) [4] 147 vs. AOYAMA, Shuko/MOULTON-LEVY, Megan (JPN/USA) 183
In singles this year, Aoyama has been quite the Brit basher; beating EWS in Burnie, Anna Fitzpatirck in Launceston, Emilia Banos & Harriet Dart in Nottingham and Tara in Noto. There's also been 5 doubles wins over Brit's. Only Mel South got the better of her this year, in singles in Kurume and in Burnie in doubles.
Hopefully Heather can notch up the third win.
Moulton Levy only plays doubles these days, and is just off of her career high of 87 (08/12), at 91.
Centre Court (from 11.00hrs) 1. Pauline Parmentier vs. Zheng Jie 2. Anabel Medina Garrigues vs. Heather Watson 3. Zhou Yi-Miao vs. Laura Robson 4. Fujiwara/Wongteanchai vs. Medina Garrigues/Zheng 5. Kops-Jones/Spears vs. Kumkhum/Miyamura (NB 17.30hrs)
I'll leave it to someone else to calculate what 'silly o'clock' that is likely to be. ( Sorry, lazyitis and businessitis )
Just had a look at Zhou's recent playing activity and she is certainly on the up, she actually beat Kai-Chen Chang who the winner of this match will play last month. Playing conditions are likely to be fairly windy today and moderately windy tomorrow.
AMG seems to be serving consistently and effectively early on (75% won off 80% 1st serves, with 3 Aces already!).
*2-2
AMG creates the first Break Point chance, at *30-40, after Heather only managed one first serve up to then, but she finds another to save the BP. AMG gets a second after from deuce, and takes it.
2-3*
Heather not yet solved the riddle of Anabel's serve, she's finding it hard to win points, even on the rare occasion a 2nd serve comes along at the moment. AMG holds to 15.
2-4*
Watson hold to love. Heather is serving fine herself (67% won off 63% 1st in), but the 2nd serve is much more vulnerable than the Spaniards - who is yet to lose a point on her own second serve.
3-4*

Game 10: Heather get's a good opening at 30-0*, winning both points from AMG 1st serves. She translates this in to her first 2 BP opportunities at 40-15*. First one is lost, but she takes the second. Good job there, finding the answer when it really counted. *5-5
Game 11: Heather carries forward the pressure, holding to 15, and now AMG is serving to stay in a set where, with one less service game, she's won 1 more point than her opponent so far.
6-5*
Game 12: Crunch time! AMG forces the breaker, with a hold to 15. Breaker probably favours Anabel, who has won 50% more points on the Watson serve than vice versa.
6-6
