Did you see the post match interview ?

http://hp-open.jp/?p=1182 (not a barrel of larfs but very composed & confident I thought)

Just watched it now thanks, I see what you mean , maybe if they had asked her about her video directorial debut she might of lightened up a bit more.

Interesting that she is needing physio treatment, so body not 100%(maybe shoulder) but not severe enough for her to pullout.

So do you think we ought to alert the people in Japan who do the seismic monitoring about the potential for a false alarm when Laura wakes up and looks at her phone?

Thanks for the link. Laura comes across very well.

Must be tricky to keep the interview going with all the waiting for translation.

Tomorrow's OOP is up, and neither of our girls seem to have any matches scheduled at all. confuse

Good news if TV coverage starts on Thursday though

About that... I think I've made an error.

I saw that on the Japanese TV Guide, for Osaka and the surrounding prefecture, on Thursday, there is a Tennis program scheduled.

However, my Japanese friend (thanks Atsuko) tells me though that it's a highlights or clips programme, and not full coverage per se. Even on the day of the finals, there is only the same format of programme scheduled.

I can't see that they, the WTA live service or anyone else at all will actually be carrying full coverage/streaming of matches unfortunately.

Apologies for any false impression given - I'll remember in future that my Japanese, especially reading comprehension, is still nowhere near as good as it needs to be.

Off topic, as there's not really much tennis content, or, well content of any kind really, and at risk of riling Ratty some more...

A member of current pop flavours of the month, One Direction, re-tweeted posts by both Heather and Laura about their video. As he has 6 million followers, that's pretty high profile exposure. Heather's picked up about 1000 extra followers as a result.

Fortunately they both have always seemed very well equipped to keep their feet on the ground and focused despite such potential distractions.

Speaking of tweet's I'm wondering if a certain forum regular isn't getting a bit too close to the players:

@lisawhybourn steven is good think I'll need to give him a wash before glasgow! Can't wait to see you all! :) x

Haha, I saw that and thought the same. But surely if it was our S.t.e.v.e.n. it would be a quick once-over with an anti-static cleaning wipe.

I was a bit concerned when Jade Windley started off that conversation by saying "bunny went in washing machine today smells amazeballs now" - it only dawned on me later when Lisa and Tara got in on the act that they weren't talking about living things and were instead arranging a kind of teddy bears' picnic biggrin

I wonder if that also indirectly explains why three One Direction fans started following me this evening (Tweetdeck shows new followers and the start of their profiles and it's very obvious) - hopefully a few tweets of Futures results will scare them away!

McHale appears to have gone out from the results I've seen, so that opens things up for a bit thru to the semi's. No easy matches, but you'd expect here to be favourite for the next two games (if she wins rd2 that is of course)
