With the (justified) attention Laura got with the silver medal at the Olympics, I think it's rather nice that Heather was the first to get a wta title. Looking forward to many more titles for both of them!

Wonderful news to wake up to - I thought it was a good omen when I got up to a beaming picture of Hev staring up at me from the front page of my print copy of the Observer. Great for her to be the first to record the milestone WTA title, considering that she has been shunted aside largely by the press in recent weeks, and we need healthy rivalry. She has always converted a good percentage of her finals (juniors/Pro) into titles (much better percentage than Laura I'm sure, though I can't access the ITF site at present to confirm their junior records).
Thanks to IF and Kundalini for their commentaries during the week
Decent effort in that second set, even saved a MP! Such a quick turn around after a marathon, and Kops-Jones/Spears are highly motivated and desperate for points to make Istanbul. No disgrace 1 & 4 in those circumstances against pure dubs specialists. Two dubs titles from 4 finals, with 3 different partners is still pretty fine going for the year I'd say.
Thank you Heather for so much fun and anguish throughout the year. Roll on January, and the privilege of following you again, to even greater heights.

Yes, been like that several days for me. I sent the ITF web team a quick heads up, in the highly unlikely event they weren't already aware of the problem.
Heather will be #50 on 1165 pts Anna Tatishvili will be #51 on 1162 pts Laura Robson will be #52 on 1153 pts
Wonder if Laura will turn up in Barnstaple?
I'm not sure if Zvonareva will have 1185 or 1115 points. Last week she had a non-counting 70 points, and if this can now be added she'll be above Heather & Laura on 1185, otherwise she'll be below with HW at 49 and LR at 51.
