So with Heather and Andy we have a chance of two titles by mid-morning tomorrow. I wouldn't even want to hazard a guess at the last time a British man and woman made finals in the same week.
At the start of the week the general consensus was Heather had a really tough draw. Who would have thought then that she would make it all the way to the final, and be the bookies favourite for each match along the way.
Also, just realised Kai-Chen Chang will be bidding to beat three of the 'Gangnam Style girls' in a row - she obviously wasn't a fan of the video and is getting her revenge on the tennis court.

Chang much the easier of Heather's potential opponents on paper, and another player ranked outside the top 100. However, Chang looks to be in top form and both Laura and now Sam Stosur have had great difficulty breaking her serve. Heather, on the other hand, has been all over her opponents service games this week, so I think how Heather does on Chang's serve could be key to the final.
After a generally poor year post February, Chang has steadily built momentum since losing to Johanna at USO:
R16 in the Ningbo $100K - losing to WR 271 in 3
Qualified & R16 in Guangzhou, aided by a Bartoli RET - losing to Hsieh, 0 & 3. Didn't beat anyone ranked higher than her though - best win was against WR 152.
Then this outstanding breakthrough week, beating four top 100 players McHale, Dellacqua, Robson & Stosur in successive matches. A better run and a better career best win than Heather has yet managed.
The match against Stosur was so impressive. Competitive all the way through every set, took the first from a break down; had 5-4 in the decider, broken to love, but held on at 5-6 to force the breaker and then dominate it.
If Chang can keep her form going, she's going to be a formidable challenge then. Perhaps the final will be a bit after the Lord Mayor's show for her after such a career best and elating win though.
Heather with every chance, but it's going to be very tough.
