Game 11: Can Heather re-compose herself after that? Yes, she can setting up 40-15, and 2 break BP's again. And takes the first. She'll have another chance! 6-5
Game 12: Well, it can't be any worse than the last attempt to serve it out Come on Heather! See it home. *15-0, *30-0 good!, *40-0. Three. Match. Points... Takes the first. Yeeeeesssss!
Just fantastic. Having come through a tough section of the draw, this easier looking match had banana skin written all over it, but Heather showed class responding throughout to setbacks with aplomb.
She'll have a chance to get the Japanese fans back onside for the final in her Doubles SF with Kimiko after Stosur and Chang slug it out.
I followed Hev's semi on live scores from the start, and as insomniacfolder says, the way Hev recovered from the early break and from getting broken when serving for the match was very impressive.
Can she beat Stosur? (if indeed it is Stosur - Chang has recovered an early break and is serving at *3-4 in the 1st set) If so (and apologies if someone else has already said all of this, I haven't had time to go through every page of the thread since getting back), she would overtake Laura but I make it that she would also need Begu to lose to Vika in Linz today and Flipkens to not win the title there in order to break into the top 50.

Yes, I'm watching the live scores a bit flabbergasted. As Kai-Chen Chang comes from a break down to take the 1st Set from Samantha Stosur, 6-4
Either way it seems, the final is going to be very tough.
I've tried to check the above rankings implications , but it's all beyond my ability to track multiple lines of data . I think both girls are likely to rise one place in addition to where they finish the year though, as Zvonareva, now at 49, has 370 WTA tour final points to come off that she now can't possibly defend. Short of winning Moscow, she'll drop below our ladies for sure.
Well done Heather! A close match but she was strongest when it mattered most. Good to get in done in two sets too as they had already played for two hours.
Stosur takes the second set and you would expect her to win now, but she's finding Chang no less tricky than Laura did ( the stats are remarkably similar so far with both players winning 66% of service points)
The next 20 minutes or so could be massive for Heather - she would start as favourite against Chang and as a big outsider against Stosur. Two very different prospects coming into a first final
