Yes. Would have been a much better watch than Wozniacki - Jovanovski. Not very exciting stuff.
Don't know how Wozniacki made it to no.1. Doesn't seem to have any big weapons at all.
Well done to Heather.
Hope she takes the same game in against Maria.
Looking forward to being deafened tomorrow - the louder, the better, as it's a sure sign Ms. Sharapova is under pressure
It looks like Wozniacki v Jovanovski has got quite exciting. After a first set where Jovanovski only won 7 points, they are now 3-3 in the third.
Heather taking advantage of Laura's enforced absence to close the gap in YTD ranking points to 958-891 in Laura's favour. The year end race is proving exciting in exactly the right way - both picking up big wins and significant point hauls.
Really good to see. Hev says "Remember me !" Year-end GB No 1 could still very much be either Laura or Heather
I don't think she's ever been that far away from her best form, having some tough draws and only losing to one player outside the top 40 since Nottingham at the beginning of June, with 3 of these 8 top 40 losses going to three sets. But nice to get a top 40 win
I think it's great that they're battling. I am more of a Laura fan than a Heather fan, but like them both.
Be great to see them both go top 50 after Beijing. Fingers crossed!
Edit : apparently just WCs for the women, but that is what you were after
Just seen this - as indiana says, I have started recording seedings as well as WCs on the men's version of the table http://www.britishtennis.net/stats/ptdm.htm?n=1, though even then it doesn't tell the full story because only point-scoring tournaments (and the odd mandatory 0-pointer) are shown, so you can't see from the best 18 lists when a player was seeded but went out in R1 (something that has happened to seeded Brits alarmingly often this year) - I only backtracked to the start of this year so seedings are not recorded for the 2011 tournaments that are still on the best 18 lists.
I am intending to do the same for the women's best 16 lists (which currently show Q/LL/WC statuses but not seedings), but I probably won't get around to backtracking through the last 38 weeks to pick up seedings from earlier this year - instead, I will probably start recording seedings for the woman from the start of 2013.

Grrr @ Activeboard. I just wrote another post (about Heather's win) and pressed send - it said it had been posted but there is no sign of it. I'll wait and see if it 'miraculously' appears in the next few hours before trying to post again. Brilliant win anyway, that was the gist of it!

I thought Hev had a good shot here given Lisicki's average recent form, but you've still got to get the job done. Was surprised when I saw that Lisicki had dropped outside the top 20. I think its great that both our young guns are playing well at the same time, thats the ideal situation. Maria next and of course the last time they met Hev played one of her best ever matches, would be great to see a similar level of performance this time. Will be televised as well so definitely one for sky plus.
Heather 3rd up on Center. After Martic/Kvitova, Kerber/Morita. Programme starts at 03:00 UK time (11:00 local). Can't see either preceeding lasting much beyond 1½ hours. Estimate therefore 06:00 UK time for Heather ± 90 minutes. Full TV/streamed coverage.
It's on Eurosport. Does that make a difference? Don't have Sky, so excuse my ignorance.
Sky plus is a way of recording anything which is shown via the sky box which includes eurosport. Its probably one of the best creations of the 21st century :)
There's a 90 minute slot before the live coverage starts at 9am so I'm assuming they'll show Hev's match then.
Have not been able to post much due to work. Her two victories in quali' were good but I felt like Sabine would have too much for her. She was ranked 12 in May--hadn't realised she dropped to 30.
Thrilled to see her come through a tough match up like this. She has to understand how to beat players with the game style of Lisicki 'cause there are a lot of the power players on tour and that's never going to be Heather's style. The more she plays and understands how to use her strengths to come through these matches, the more regularly she will be able to win matches against top 30 (I still think Lisicki is top 20 calibre despite the current ranking) players.
Sharapova will undoubtedly be tough but let's she what happens.
