4 -2* Hev and Co. Seem to be enjoying themselves.

Nice win - Heather doing great in doubles at the moment

Indeed. Although she is defending semi-final doubles points here, so this win only bumps her two spots up the rankings and a win tomorrow is only worth one further place. The slope is starting to get a bit steeper in this neck of the woods.

Jo Durie was probably our last sub 50 doubles player sometime in the early 90s. She reached her career high of 29 in April 1989.

Loving what Hev is doing in doubles right now, but just hope it's not impacting her performances on the singles court.

I think it will only benefit her in the long run in singles.

Isn't a bit odd to have the semi finals scheduled on different days at an indoor tournament? It's not as if the weather could interfere.

I thought so.

Especially as Mladenovic has to play both her singles and doubles Semi-final today. They even scheduled her singles semi second of the two, so she has to play them back to back (with 'sufficient rest').

To my eye, even if they wanteed to split the WD semi's, it would have made more sense to play Mladenovic's Semi yesterday, and Heather's today. They knew the matches they had coming in enough time.

I see the parallel Tashkent event is already over despite staring Qualifiyng and MD at the same time.

Either way, it should all be to to Heather & Alicia's advantage, though Mladenovic lost in the singles (to Hradecká - or as the WTA commentator calls her, Hurr-ad-ick-ah!) so won't have to play twice again tomorrow.

The break came in the third game. They had two set points in game 9 but couldn't convert.
*5-4

Broken when serving for the set. cry

5-5*

Got the break back again. Heaticia are shading the points split, serving slightly worse, but creating more BP's.

*6-5

And... surrender it again! TB.

6-6

Never got settled in the TB, and so contrived to lose a set in which they had 2 set points, and won the majority of the points. UPhill struggle now perhaps.

(5)6-7

Back-to-back breaks in games 2 & 3 of the second set.
*2-1

Going wrong today! They're second best in the second set so far, and broken to 30 in game 7.

3-4*

Game 9: To their credit, Heaticia saved four championship points in a row at *0-40. Still do or die though, as Malek/Mladenovic come out to serve for it.

4-5*

Well, no fat lady's can be heard yet! More Championship points saved, and, against the run of play, they break back, on deuce, to level the second set.

*5-5

Has Mladalek's confidence been exterminated (I thank you! wink), as they have to serve to stay in the second set?

6-5*

The set is won after facing all those championshp points.

CTB upcoming disbelief Whose nerve will hold?
