Just a walk in the park really biggrinbiggrin

Go Laura !!!!!

She just has to beat 6 of the last 7 grand slam winners then. No problem!

Mixed draw is up, but no British women feature - two Brit men are playing (Marray, Fleming)

*Edit* Kim Clijsters is playing with Bob Bryan, which should be fun. They're scheduled to meet brother Mike & Lisa Raymond in R2!

Almagro finally saw off Stepanek, so Anne's R1 is up next.

One possible stream for Court 17 will be: http://atdhenet.tv/50104/watch-us-open-court-17

Alternate stream (more stable for me, at least): http://lsh.lshunter.tv/static/popups/107767692298760.html

Looks like Anne & JK's matches could well overlap.

Radio 5 Live (and/or Sports Extra) aren't doing commentary until 22:00 which won't be much use. Can't see a BBC website commentary stream, though Overend & Laws are definitely sitting right there!

Now playing, Kerber served first *0-1

Laura's match with Kim Clijsters is scheduled 3rd on Arthur Ashe tomorrow  ( Andy's on Arthur Ashe at night )

First up at 11 am ( 4 pm BST ) is Azarenka vs Flipkens

And not before 1 pm ( 6 pm BST ) is Malisse vs Isner, and we know John can take his time on occasions !!

Back on serve after an epic game. Babos had a lot of set points and JoKo missed at least 4 bps before she finally broke

JoKo then holds to love for 5-5 in about 37 secs; cruel

Fantastic.

Is this Jo's first top 100 win?

Her career best win is shown in stats as against Ksenia Pervak ( KAZ ), then WR 38, in the Copenhagen WTA tour event in April this year, but it was a retiral :  6 - 3   1 - 0  RET.

So ths much more significant, a completed match at a Slam

I think her previous best win was Dolonts ranked 100 at the time.

Her previous best was Pervak, ranked 38

You're right, I was looking at the old table of best wins rather than Helen Parish's.

Laura's match is 3rd on Arther Ashe, although it follows John Isner, so may not take place until Thursday!

Excellent win by Jo, even given her form in qualifying and recent weeks I wasn't expecting that so it's a massive bonus.

Good timing from Jo as well for her career to really kick on after finally gaining British nationality

Maybe she's a Laura, only rising to big occaisions.

Jo has been getting better generally, as Tony was indicating, like reaching a 50K final in Lexington in July.

Still, as he says, really excellent win here and all these set points saved !

I was thinking BP stats can sometimes be a bit misleading in that they will count from that 9th game I think 1 made out of 7, but she still got the crucial break in that game, while evidently saving 10 set points !

Good grief, and we thought she had a relatively kind draw with a qualifier 1st round !

Qualifiers are doing extremely well so far in R1, confident JoKo can get close to an upset.

Johanna will be up in ~ 10 minutes.
Rather stupidly, I promised to give a piano lesson, so won't get to see either match. Good luck ladies!

Comfortable break for Joko 1-0

Fights back from 0-40 to hold 2-0

Breaks to love for 3-0
