Well done to Jo on her win. Even that first set had a points difference and general stats advantage that would often be associated with a much clearer games margin, with Jo generally winning her games easier. Importantly though, she did also win that 10th game from 2 set points down.
Thanks very much for the commentary on how the points went.
And Johanna closes it out without any hiccups. Another really impressive win. Well played Johanna.
Onwards!
Zhang, Shuai (CHN) 195 (CH: 73 April, 2011)
Zhang not in her best form, but did beat both Heather & Laura in Clearwater on Hard Courts earlier this year - not to be taken lightly.
Thanks for the commentary (and I have to acknowledge the top punning from SMC too ) - 'not in her best form' may be a bit out of date - Zhang has beaten a seed and another top 200 player so far this week, both in straight sets, handing out a bagel and three breadsticks!

Another solid win for Jo, shaky start but impressive by the end. Zhang will be very tough, a solid top 100 player at her best, which is better than Jo at the moment, and her form this week suggests that shes in that shape now. Also got a keen eye on all the other FQRounds to see what dangers lurk for Laura.
Game 12. Zhang serving. At 40-15* A 3rd Match point... Gone, excruciating... Now the 4th Match Point - Gone too. Unbearable... A 5th Match point from deuce 4(?)... Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. 7-5
