Well, Heatina picked up their level in the second set and efficiently closed out the match. But, it has to be said, their opponents were absolutely abject, and never really provided any resistance of substance at any point.

But, that's their problem!

Heatina win another title, and seem to enjoy playing together. They beat the experienced #1 seeds en route (would have really have liked to see that one streamed), and deserve the success.

Surely they'll play USO together, and I could easily see them make a QF if the draw is kind, and then who knows?

NB: Postscript - on my stream I can hear, but not see, the awards ceremony. Heather giggling her way through it, as Marina good naturedly makes out that the partnership came about after Heather continually pestered her with e-mails and calls to play doubles in Stanford and eventually she accepted just to shut her up.

Great stream. Headphones on. But, looks like its going to be all over in a hurry! Never seen Hev & Marina play before. They are having fun. But WHAT is that blue stuff she is drinking ?

The commentators did imply they would be playing together at USO but that may have been guesswork.

From the WTA website:

"Stanford was the first time we played together, and the second time we played together was here - so we're doing pretty well together!" Watson said. "We just take it match by match. We were just focusing on our first match when we got here, then as each one progressed we did the same, and here we are."

"We're going to play US Open, we're going to play Québec City, we haven't even talked about Asia yet but I'm hoping there too," Erakovic added.

I was kind of wondering that myself so you've encouraged me to go and find out, well at least where it would put her based on the current ranking list  smile

Currently Heather has a doubles ranking of WR 79 with 1208 points from her 11 counting events  ( 11th is 1  )

Adding 280 here and taking out the 1, she will be on 1487 points ( 11th now 5 with 10th 34 ).

1487 points is equivalent to WR 65 in the current rankings.
