R1: [LL] WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) 398 lost to [Q] LUCIC, Mirjana (CRO) 97 1-6 2-6
WD R2: WATSON, Heather (GBR) / ERAKOVIC, Marina (NZL) [4] Vs. ELIE Jennifer (USA) / MUHAMMED, Asia (USA) Heatina's dubs is not on today's OOP. So, should be a win on Wednesday then, as Elie / Muhammed were very average in beating Emily & partner in R1.
Oh Annie... Strong proof of why hawkeye is needed at all tour events on all courts. A definitive call either way could have helped keep her calm. Wish she could have bagged that one. The one small positive I can derive is that it was a lot closer than Carlsbad.
Shame Em couldn't do more with her LL but the financial boost will have been welcome. Looking at the results I see that Begu only one more game than Em against Dellacqua.
This has just answered a mystery! I've been away for a couple of days - no internet, but did see some tennis results on the beeb. They reported EWS's loss (I didn't know she's got in as LL, so I was a tad surprised to see her name there) - but the most surprising thing was that they had her down as the top seed!!! I couldn't fathom that out at all, until I just saw that she replaced the top seed!!

Time for all good insomniacs to come to the aid of our girl.
And it has an instant effect, as they break almost as you posted
*2-1
And again, winning 60% of the points now - which, most times, will help a bit! Though I seem to remember Goran winning matches from the wrong side of that equation.
*4-1
Nice efficient job in the first then.
They were similarly good in their R1 match in the first set, and then collapsed dramatically. We don't want a repeat performance please girls. A nice routine victory is quite sufficient. No need to manufacture some drama!
6-2

Heather's doubles is last up, so likely to be in the region of 03:00 Tuesday morning (I'll probably be up!)
I've got too ask - when do you sleep?
Only about 90-120 minutes a day, so it's pretty easy to fit in!
No longer do I have the strangest sleeping habits on the board, it seems
That doesn't sound like fun though ...
So steven, when do you sleep?
Most of the day for the last 3 days, but that's because I'm ill at the moment! Otherwise, I usually manage 5-6 hours sometime between midnight-10 am plus a short nap at some point during the day. It depends on whether I need to talk to business contacts on the other side of the world and I sometimes deliberately skew sleep time a bit when slams are on. Contrary to popular belief though, the number of nights per year when I hardly sleep at all can (thankfully) be counted on the fingers of one hand!

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Unfortunately, it appears to be the only match on the un-streamed court, despite having #'s 1 & 4 seeds. The other WD SF has no seeds, but is streamed. Go figure?
Heather is already guaranteed a new CH for doubles with the wins this week, of ~72. Even if they win this tournament she'll 'only' get up to about 65.
*Addition* NB: I only just noticed that in their win at Stanford, Heatina took out Seeds 2, 3 & 1 in consecutive rounds, from QF to F.
