no - it showed only unread messages as unread, those read previously with a black box. I am also too lazy to log in every time I check the site and have had the same problem. I didn't like to bring attention to it as I know it's laziness on my part and hoped it would sort itself out. It is mildy annoying though as it now takes at least 5 seconds longer to see how many new messages there are!
Yes it's not just me then. I agree annoying but not disasterous, just living in hope that something may be able to be done about it, and one doesn't know unless one asks - so thanks for comments!.
Sorry to point out a couple of problems but the British tennis picture at the top of this page has disappeared, but it is still on the front of the stats page.
Perhaps more worrying is that on the men's and women's top 25 table the link to the home page doesn't take one to the expected home page, it goes to the rubbish tennis equipment site.

Is this webs.com a new host or something?
webs
webs.com is the new (though not very new any more) name for freewebs, which has always hosted the website pages and the pictures, though the forum itself is hosted separately by Activeboard.
It looks like webs have managed to lose our pictures somehow - you'd think they'd want to keep quiet about that rather than advertising that fact with their "Oops! Image not found ... webs provides your image hosting" placeholder.
What has gone wrong?
Looking into this a bit more, it looks like what has happened is that Webs has suddenly and for no apparent reason (*) started converting some www.freewebs.com/britishtennis links to www.britishtennis.net links, which is why it isn't finding the images (even though they are still on their server under freewebs.com/britishtennis) and why the home page link on the stats page goes to the wrong place - though fortunately none of the other freewebs.com/britishtennis links (e.g. those to the stats pages themselves) are being converted in the same way.
In 'manage your domains' on webs.com, britishtennis.net is still shown as the domain name that is linked to our site and it seems to be impossible to remove it (I have just removed everything I can under settings for that domain name but it has made no difference)
(*) I said 'for no apparent reason' but in fact while I was investigating, a page came up saying that britishtennis.net had recently been activated again (by whoever nicked it from under Sheddie's nose or by someone who has bought it off them, I assume) and would be fully active within 48 hours, so maybe this problem is linked to that re-activation.
If the problem has not corrected itself by the weekend, I'll have another look into it then, by which time the 48 hours (if it is important rather than just a red herring) should have expired and it might become a bit clearer what is going on.
New domain name?
One final thing - although the site is still owned by Sheddie (and I have absolutely no wish for that to change), I pay an annual fee on his behalf so that we have enough bandwidth to host BOTB on the freewebs.com/britishtennis and it turns out that this also allows us to register a new domain name for a year.
I think this might now be worth doing, since it should allow us to reclaim control of where the links point to and would also give us a permanent domain (which I would make sure got renewed every year) which wouldn't have to change even if we moved away from webs at some stage.
If so, now that the LTA have @britishtennis as their twitter account, I would be inclined to register a "gbtennis" domain name to fit in with my stats twitter account instead of a "britishtennis" domain which could easily get confused with them, unless people here would object to that?
By the way, Webs now register domain names internally, having had (they say) complaints about the people who used to do it on their behalf. They were called 'Wild West' - aptly named *if* we are correct in our assumption about them being cowboys who sold the domain name on without warning Sheddie that it was about to expire, as more reputable companies would do.
Comments
If you want to comment on this, please do so before Sunday, otherwise I will assume nobody objects to the idea above. If Sheddie or Drew are reading this, I would be particularly keen to know what they think, for or against - and to have it confirmed that neither of them are the people who have apparently repurchased britishtennis.net in the last couple of days and reactivated it! (if either of them have, then that would probably be problem solved in 48 hours anyway! )

The GB tennis girls site is of course on gbtennisgirls.com so can take over them as well Seriously, I would imagine that is OK and shouldn't lead to any confusion.
I wondered who was paying for the domain now. I couldn't contribute much but would be prepared to contribute my pensioners' mite towards the cost - you only have to say.
The registration status for Britishtennis.net doesn't seem to have changed:

The update on 26 Sep suggests something might have happened fairly recently, perhaps whatever is waiting 48 hours to go through is the next stage in someone else using it, who knows ... or perhaps a complete red herring.
Either way, I can't see us getting it back any time soon without paying more than we are prepared to pay, unless Sheddie or Drew know different ...

^^ It came back for a few days then vanished again!
Anyway, is anybody else having problems with private messages? When I come onto the site it tells me I have 3 new private messages, but when I try to read them, they aren't there. When I go to my inbox, what I see seems to be my outbox.
So if anybody has sent me a PM recently can you please tell me on here and we'll work out a way for me to read it, eg by pm'ing me on the ex-official Andy forum.
i had the same thing (4 for me). i was able to get to them by clicking on the little yellow envelope at the bottom left of the page, which brought up a mini box with offending messages, in my case they were all ancient, and i could clear them that way.
