It gives some extra code at the end...when I link to that i get the right banner ?
The way the banner was set up was all i had to do was delete the old banner within PB, upload the new one and the banner would change here and on bt.net
I thought it was always ( certainly in recent times ) Drew who did each new banner and really good ones too.
I had noticed he hasn't been around much lately and of course people's priorities change.
I think it would be good though to at least have some sort of default banner that can be up at times, all the time if not being updated, but particularly at times in place of out-of-date event specific banners.
I presume everyone like Mad and I still sees an O2 banner.
I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but can't see where else it can go!
If I don't log in it marks all messages as read, even if I haven't read them. However if I log in, it retains the correct read/unread distinctions.
Now, agreed this might be all about encouraging people to log in, or a quirk in the system. But if you haven't logged in a casual observer might just assumed that nobody's posted for days on end, and go away again, which is what I thought when this started happening.
It's also odd that it only occurs for people not logged in and not for everyone!
I don't know who arranges to correct these sort of issues??

Nout really to do with me, but seems exactly as I'd expect, and nothing to do with encouraging folk to log in or a quirk. Not odd at all.
How are you expecting to be recognised if you don't sign in ? From your IP no which might be shared ?

I'm not explaining myself well I think!
On first looking at the main page, and not logged in, all topics appear as read (tick in black box), even if I haven't read them.
However if I log in, I can see the correct read (black box tick) and unread (white box tick) distinctions.
Until a week ago (or so) whether logged in or not, I could tell whether there were unread topics still to read, now I can only tell if I'm logged in.

Oh, I see. Impressed it ever did show show unread topic when you weren't signed in. I just go by topics showing in bold, and always thought I had to sign in.
I'm also surprised it ever worked when you weren't logged in - are you sure it didn't just show everything as unread?
Either way, this is almost certainly an Activeboard thing that not even the (absent) admins can do anything about - but like the other regular Activeboard glitches, it might suddenly sort itself out and start working ok again.
