Pauffley seemingly dominated at the start of the set. He had break points in Evo's first three service games while having three comfortable holds of his own.
Well going by the scores Cox seems to have had a really solid week, dropping just 6 games in each of his first 3 matches and just 2 today. Evo on the other hand was obviously struggling very badly on serve yesterday (broken 7 times by Burn) and faced break point in 4 service games today (including his first three). On that basis I have to make Cox favourite for the final.
This will see him move to around 330 in the rankings and assuming that he plays Chiswick / Roehampton / Nottingham (just 2 points to defend) he should hopefully be back into the top 300 by end of September.
Good to see Dan Cox in a final. I saw Dan Cox play when he was 15 and really liked his game. Shame he's so short as I think he could have had a greater career.
It would have been nice if Coxy got the gold medal here but the silver is fine, too. More importantly, this whole week's exercise means that he has now surely removed all the rustiness he had from the lay off.
