why does liam not play more junior events? it would get his confidence up to be reguarly getting to the 1/4 or semi final's of these plus improve his junior ranking?

IMO he is better off doing what he has been doing. Winning relatively small junior events doesn't really count for much in the long run and frankly junior rankings are irrelevant. The first half of 2011 was clearly very, very good for him but was probably a bit too much a bit too soon. It pushed his own expectations really high and and the couple of times I seen him play last summer he was putting way, way too much pressure on himself. The last year has obviously been a tough time for him, and probably quite a sobering experience but hopefully he has learnt a lot and matured a bit because of it.
Good mix for the QFs: one stellar junior, two of the UK's best "older" players, the resurgent Pauffley, and the Dan/Dan/Josh troika. Should be interesting matches all around.
