KONTA, Johanna (GBR) 212 lost to ADAMCZAK, Monique (AUS) 217 4-6 1-6

Very disappointing after last week.

Vancouver's supposed to be a beautiful city, but it's been really ugly for the Brits.

Three women one man, all underperformed their rankings. Baker, Broady and Konta didn't win a set between them (Emily won her Q1 match). Everyone seemed strangely lacking somehow, almost laissez-faire.

A week to forget in a hurry for all concerned.

 

Oh, and there were two straight sets doubles defeats too!

Just out of interest - Mallory Burdette (who beat Anne back in R1 of the WTA in Stanford back in July) went on to win the tourny at Vancouver.
