Pretty poor from EWS against a player 170 places below her. First set was awful, second a slight improvement aided by 6 DF's from Duval.
In the match Emily only won 8% (yes, eight percent!) of points on her second serve. That's always gonna be defeat in straights, unless you serve 90% or better - she didn't.

Both in the same quarter as well, stretching it though that they'll meet in the quarters. Jo should win if not exhausted, Naomi probably not although you can never tell with Nomes.
Better, and almost identical, performances from Emily and Naomi in the doubles, but still defeats for both in straights.
WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily / BOBUSIC Bojana (AUS) lost to. MINELLA, Mandy (LUX) / SAVCHUK, Olga (UKR) [1] 4-6 6(5)-7 BROADY, Naomi / BRENGLE, Madison (USA) lost to GLUSHKO, Julia (ISR) / ROGOWSKA, Olivia (AUS) 6(5)-7 4-6
Johanna's singles against Adamczak, now the last UK interest as Jamie Baker also lost yesterday, is at 18:00 UK time today.
Johanna was 3-0* but lost 5 games in a row! She did fight off five set points in game 9 though.
4-5*
JK had 2 break back points in game 10, but Adamczak takes the set. Johanna is in the match despite that awful run in the middle of the set, she actually had more break points, in more games than Monique did, but is just 1/9 as opposed to 2/7.
6-4

Adamczak continuing her remarkable ability to fight of BP's (or JK her inability to take them) as she consolidates her previous break by saving 3 consecutive BP's in game 2 - making 11 saved of 12 in the match. Johanna needs to take these chances - she seems slightly the better player overall.
*0-2
Or, maybe not! Another break for Monique, handed over with a DF, and the match is slipping away.
0-3*
Two streaks of 5 games lost in a row by Johanna in the match.
*0-4
