I think its a compliment to Tara that I think her talent and ability warrents more than what she has achieved so far.
Having seen Tara play a couple of times as a 15 year old and again at 17 i assumed she would be comfortably top 200 by now edging towards the top 150. So I believe she has underachieved. But i know she has been hampered by niggling injuries over the past couple of years.
So yes loosing 6-1 6-3 to a player ranked 163 is 'very dissapointing'

Hmm. I have said myself earlier in the thread that basically based on how Tara has played at her best in the last 2 or 3 years, she is well capable of getting into and staying in the top 250, and you having seen her play at younger ages clearly saw the potential for getting quite a bit higher than that.
But I have to agree with the view that at this stage to pick on one particular match against a player of Gronert's ranking, consistency and experience ( as opposed say to being disappointed in her overall progress, which as you say has been hampered a bit by factors such as injuries ) and describe it as "very disappointing" ( and I would add that scores such as 6 - 1 6 - 3 can often be generally tighter than the scoreline may suggest ) seems to me very strange.
Anyway, it is good to see Tara looking to be generally playing better again after her unproductive first few months of the year and I do hope that she can continue to improve and move closer to folk's general expectations, whatever these may be.
