I'm suffering my usual post Wimbledon tennis withdrawal problems. So it's good to see Brits playing in good tournaments and doing well. Congratulations to Heather and Laura.
I'm sad to see Anne's result and don't have high hopes of her improving her game greatly in the future. Let's just hope that Anne & Elena perform to the best of their abilities at the Olympics.

I know how you feel
Also from being able to watch the games, and know whether Anne just came up against someone who as Steven says isn't ranked because she's at college, someone doing a Rosol, of just playing badly herself.
The bookies gave Annie a 91% chance of victory beforehand, so not a complete shocker, but obviously a bad result. The number 1 position could easily reverse itself in the next 3 months owing to the fact that Anne is defending very little until October, bot she'll clearly need to start playing better.
Bookies have gone quite short on Heather for tonights match. I would say that she had a 1 in 3 chance as Wickmayer although a bit up and down has had some good wins recently.
Such a pity to see Anne's result. It looked the perfect match for her on paper and a chance of 60 points. But in the end a very poor result. It surely can't sit very well with her mentally losing to an unranked college player the tennis world has never heard of. Anne can usually be up and down with her form but even this for her is shocking. Let's hope she can bounce back quickly.
