L32: (1) Alex Bogdanovic WR 363 v Shane Vinsant (USA) WR 1211
In the second round he would play one of two unranked qualifiers and the highest ranked player in his half of the draw is 667. Really should go deep here.

With his pedigree, not just go deep, but win it - but then he also might feel the pressure of being the top seed that has that expectation. It's just that we know he can play so much better than his current ranking.
Isn't this the futures tournament where, last year, Brian Baker entered as an unranked qualifier and proceeded to carve up the draw? (Not that I think lightning is likely to strike twice)
i'm a bit cautious this week. Alex has been suffering from a tight back (which effected him in the SF last week) so he's not at 100%. a Wednesday start may help, but these clay matches are always a grind and you have to work hard for it.
hopefully the more matches he plays his body will get back used to it.

I am always cautious when it comes to predicting Boggo's matches. I never rule anything in, or out for that matter. Presumably these 3 futures are mostly about getting some matches under his belt ready for the summer challenger events starting with Binghampton.
PS: affected, not effected, was the word you were looking for.

But is there enough time for us to practise getting Binghamton right too?
No idea why there's no 'p' in the name, but there isn't.

With the 2nd seed going out, Boggo is at least 300 places higher in the rankings than every other player in the draw. A few emerging stars are in there no doubt but, hope Boggo can take the points from this one.
L32: (1) Alex Bogdanovic WR 363 beat Shane Vinsant (USA) WR 1211 by 7-6(3) 6-3
L16: (1) Alex Bogdanovic WR 363 v (Q) Robert Rotaru (CAN) UNR
Rotaru has had a ranking point before but is now 24 so not exactly an up-and-coming junior. The other seed in Boggo's quarter went out as well, so he is ranked nearly 800 places higher than anyone else left in the top quarter and wit hthe no. 2 seed out, as mentioned above, the next highest-ranked player in the draw is Fratangelo, whom he beat in straight sets last week.
Basically then, keep everything crossed that his back holds up this week, because that's by far the main obstacle to him taking the title here.
