To be honest I don't think we can read a lot into any of the results this week. They are clearly playing on a surface completely different to what they were expecting.

absolute joke of a tournament this week, i feel like complaining to the ITF.
it isnt clay, it isnt artificial grass. the club dont even know what the surface is. The players are just snapping on court with the situation, the balls become as heavy as bricks within 2 games. just a farce, i wouldnt read into anything happening this week at all.

If some people said this I would regard it is an excuse but since you have always been a big enough man to admit when you have played crap I take your comments at face value. As such I would encourage you to complain to the ITF. Some circumstances might be beyond the control of the organisers but as players you have the right to play on a decent surface that resembles what you signed up for.

Yes.  Tom lost 2 & 3.   Josh now 5-3 up in the first set.
