Alex lost a very close one 3-6 7-6(8) 7-6(5) to GdL in Belgium in 2009.

No rematch for Alex against de Lovinfosse, he ended up playing a LL with an even better name (even if it's only if you anglicise the pronunciation wink) instead.

L16: (4) Alex Ward WR 388 lost to Juan Carlos Sáez (CHI) WR 620 by 7-5 ret.

Alex won the first 4 games, was pegged back to 4-3 and then went *5-3 up but then lost 4 games in a row to lose the set 7-5, at which point it looks like he retired.
