Pretty disappointing, shes not even competing with her, always happens with the Brits when they play top players, oh well!!
I'm not sure whether it always happens when Brits play top players, but Hev certainly doesn't seem on her game for whatever reason. I've never see her make so many UEs.
She's played better on the second set, but certainly not her 'A' game.
No, in fairness, it doesn't always happen with Brits when they play top players -- unless Schiavone and Sharapova (and Wawrinka and Fish) don't count as top players.
But it does happen that sometimes a player on their way up can play lights out and do really well, and sometimes they don't. So be it. Just wish she'd been able to keep the memory of her first Centre Court match as the dominant one!
A disappointing end to an excellent Wimbledon for Heather but these sort of matches can easily happen against top class opponents. Heather clearly had a game plan to be more aggressive as she couldn't wait for Radwanska to make errors but it isn't really her natural game so as a result she ended up making lots of errors and the first set disappeared very quickly.
Re: her scheduling - I guess she didn't want to assume she would be playing in the olympics and as she didn't find out for certain until this week I'm guessing she missed the withdrawal deadline? Just a theory...
I'm sure we all wanted to see a more competitive match, but hopefully Heather is getting a feel for playing highly ranked players. And if we talk about the pressure on Andy at Wimbledon it's understandable that Heather will feel it too.
I was impressed by the fact that she kept her head up and didn't go for tearful under the towel moments.
Good learning curve for Heather. At least she doesn't seem to mind playing on a big show court. Plus how many matches has she actually played so far against those right at the very top of the game. I'm sure she will work even harder to improve and close the gap. Her next goal needs to be staying in the top 100 so she gets direct entry into more top events. Get herself up to the top 50 and go from there. Plenty for her to build on from this week.
Heather seemed to be consistently hitting 6 inches too far which is unusual for her. Watching the match it wasn't clear whether Heather was trying to be too aggressive or whether her opponent was doing something that confused her. It looked as if she should have been able to stay in rallies and wait for a good chance but she rarely tried that option preferring instead to go on the attack quite early in the rally. An odd match, perhaps her team need to work out an alternative strategy for players like Radwanska.

Not a clue what happened but didn't seem like the Heather that I know.
Heather has played 3 different elite players in her career. Radwanska, Azarenka and Sharapova. Both Radwanska and Azarenka give you nothing, so in order to make an impression you either have to be as good as them at what they do or you have to hit through them which is not Heather's natural game. Whereas with Sharapova Heather's natural game can have an impact if Sharapova has a bit of an off day. I think Heather has a similar game to McHale who has also lost badly when she has played Radwanska so far. When you're not playing your natural game thinks can get ugly which seemed to happen today.
Bally's performance against Petra Kvitova put into context by Varvara Lepchenko - who managed just 1 game against her
... whereas Anne's performance against Errani is put into a rather less favourable light by the fact that Shvedova has just bagelled Errani in the 1st set without dropping a point!
Apparently that's the first time it's been done in a women's pro set in the Open era, the previous record holder having been Shvedova herself with 23 points in a row ... in a match she went on to lose.
