Brains beat Braun in that game, but Laura had it in her grasp at 6-1 3-2 and 0-40 on Schiavone's serve.

Laura was in control for the first set and a half and she probably played well enough to beat a lot of players in the draw, but Schiavone showed some of the mental toughness it takes to win a Grand Slam.

Sciavone was able to change her tactics during the match and exploit the weaknesses in Laura's game. Laura also struggles to keep her performance levels up for a whole match, but at least she didn't allow herself to get too despondent today and so she kept battling right to the end.
