The cheque for £65K for reaching the final is roughly three times his prize money for the year so far. Win or lose today he'll start to get some sensible sponsorship money.
His ranking will go up to the low 30's, he won't have to play challengers anymore. I'm so pleased for him!
I don't understand why Freddy and Johnny can't do the American stretch together. Surely Freddy could play the qualifiers there and then join up in the doubles. Must be a more attractive option that grinding it out on the challenger tour
That does sound like a sensible idea to me. It may well be that Freddie will have a change of heart when he has had time to think things through. I am sure that at the moment the success of this week has sunk in for either of them.

"Marray ends 52-year wait and celebrates with tea "
"Marray, described as the last serve-and-volleyer left in tennis by his partner, spent his £75 winner's gift voucher on a tea set. "He likes tea," said Nielsen."
Does anyone know what happens at 6:00 pm to the radio feed? The 5live announcers are saying that they will be going to a preview of tomorrow's final at 6:00 pm. Surely, SURELY this doesn't mean that there won't be any way of listening to the doubles final??? Will it go over to another channel?
Edit: Aha! I've found the Wimbledon Centre Court channel. But still think it's mad that the BBC apparently won't be covering?

Slighty disappointing is that this doesn't look like being the start of a permanent partnership because Freddie still wants to take his singles career seriously.

I've seen a claim on Twitter that they only get into the O2 if the US Open doubles champions are in the top 7, or are ranked lower than them. Seems to me there is a easy way they can prevent someone usurping their place...

Yes that's right, although I am sure some media will try and claim otherwise.
This will give them entry to all the Masters Series events as well!
