RE: Week 25 - Wimbledon men's qualifying

Looks as if they may have stopped Rice/Thornley -- sensible, since it's perfectly evenly split, and they're hardly going to complete the match tonight. In which case, a preliminary cheer for them for showing very clearly that they deserve to be in the mix ... and all best wishes for them for tomorrow.

Felder is possibly the best draw you could ask for in QR2, go on Kyle.

Great win for Kyle.

I saw him play the juniors at wimbledon last year, saw he had a lot of talent from the few games I saw. Big forehand, big serve and he was onyl 16 at the time. Plus he was so tall i assumed he was at least 18 LOL

Thornley/Rice looked out of it when down 30-0 with their opponents serving for the match but a lucky netcord, DF and a great return winner kept them in it. 2nd set TB was very tense, the match point they saved was on an unreturnable serve from Dave. Officials should probably have stopped it after the 2nd set, was getting very dark during the last game they played, but at least it didn't result in any breaks of serve and it's still level.

During the Morgan / Burton match Ward-Hibbert and Jonny Omara were extremely vocal throughout, shouting encouragement after literally every point. They were definitely testing the patience of the Chinese pair towards the end of the match, who gestured angrily towards the two of them a few times after losing a point. Pretty sure Jonny and Josh celebrated the win more than Lewis and George themselves, but I would have thought that's the sort of home support the players need to help get an edge over the opposition.

I was out yesterday evening and by the time I got home it was a bit late to start checking scores - so I'm really pleased to see the wins for Kyle and George/Lewis - well done. Great to hear that the lads are supporting each other too.
Do hope Thornley/Rice can come back and win this match later.

Kyle Edmund has made a great start to his match, breaking and then holding to love. Incidently I'm following the score on Bet365 and the odds (if I were a betting man, which i'm not) are terrible. If you bet on Kyle right now you would only your money back plus less than half, pretty riduculas considering how inexperienced Kyle is

Eaton lost 6-7(7) 6-7(6) to top seed Jurgen Zopp, I don't think there were any breaks in the match.

Good start from Kyle against one of the weakest players left in the draw, 4-0* up.
