RE: Week 25 - Wimbledon men's qualifying

Great wins for Kyle and Lewis/George - really transforms the day here after just Chris managing a win earlier

Absolutely stunning. Not entirely surprising, but stunning.

Now hoping Messrs Thornley and Rice can keep up the good fight. Presumably they'll have some rest overnight -- can't really continue much longer.

About 4 months ago, I was lucky enough to see Kyle play here in Spain (Murcia) and I was quoted right here on this forum as stating that Kyle is "one to watch".  I stand by that statement.

Awesome win, but a very talented young player.  Should put him in the top 900 already.  Trust me - he is going to go A LOT higher than that.

It hasn't been a good week to be a Daniel ranked 102 playing a young Brit, has it - Oli beat Daniel Brands (last week's WR 102) at the weekend and now this.

What a great win - edged out of the 2nd set and then a quick break down in the 3rd against a much higher-ranked, much more experienced player (Who took a set off Muzz in R1 last year) would usually be curtains, but no, not for Kyle!

He gets 8 points for that win (not 40 like the women get!), which will take him to around 900, but he's also got the Uruguayan world no. 276 Marcel Felder next - I've seen worse draws for QR2 of a grass court slam!

And Rice/Thornley must have broken ... as they're still in the second set. Can they break again? Or take a tie breaker?

Yes - the Austrian/Spanish combo broke for 5-4, got to 2 points from victory but Dave/Sean broke back and they are currently 5-4 up in the tiebreak

Very good wins for Chris and Kyle.

Chris bringing his A game to big matches like these, fingers crossed against the top seed!

Fantastic for Kyle, what an experience for him at that age!

Also a big win for Morgan/Burton and fingers crossed they take on Rice/Thornley next, both pairs in my opinion who should have got WC's for MD!
