Quite crazy that there are two empty spaces in the qualifying draw when you get $750 for a QR1 loss. Could they not have found a couple of extra Brits to fill them?!

I presume Eastbourne, as the ATP have this up as a combined men/women's tournament - worth more than B'ham, and B'ham wouldn't have 2 in a row -it appears they need persuasion to even take the 1 tournament.

Thanks, I keep getting confused with all the different 'AEGON ....' tournaments.  I know Nottingham have 2 weeks in a .but I suppose they are both Challenger level

Yes this is Eastbourne. Our business is there this week and gutted I've not been able to snag a few days there. Anyone going?

As I posted on the Birmingham thread, Laura's down here as tba to play quialies tomorrow, but also 3rd on court 4 at Birmingham, so how's that going to work?????

It is standard practice in WTA qualies scheduled over 3 days to allow players into the draw who have a reasonable chance of making it within 24 hours. Hence Laura (and Jade because of Grandin) have matches tba on the drawsheet. This means if the players are available to play later today they will be scheduled then, but more likely they will be postponed until early Sunday. If they are still involved at Edgbaston tomorrow they will be scratched from the qualies draw

Since Laura and Heather have now withdrawn from the doubles at Edgbaston that can only mean they're headed down to Eastbourne so hopefully Laura can play her qualies AOK.

Anne and Daniela met in the same tournament in 2010 and Daniela won in two.

tough draw for Anne

Lisa just lost set 1 1-6 7 DF's. Every match i follow Lisa she does double figures in DF's does she not work on this aspect of her game. It;s obvously a problem
