You Beauty !! Both have very tough 2R in particular Makarova who is a standing dish at Eastbourne. Watched her match against Kivitova and she was very impressive, another lefty.
Hopefully with all the top seeds being beaten at least one of those 2R matches will get on centre.
Laura's win ensures that Bally will be outside the top 100 for another week, whether Laura gets in there next Monday or not (it's virtually certain she will) but Hev beating Arn removed the most immediate threat of Bally falling even further.
60 additional points are on offer for a R2 win.

Babos almost took out Safarova today as well so she obviously isn't playing ominously. Although she's very hard to predict. Makarova is a good player on grass but this is the type of test I want to see Laura compete closely in.
Surely one, if not both, will be on Centre tomorrow and thus Eurosport.
Also, the rankings are looking very competitive between the four right now, but something tells me once Heather and Laura both get to number 1 and 2, they will be staying there for a long time. Anne has a heck of a lot of points to defend at the end of the year and, in my opinion, Bally is winding down her career.
I think Bartoli is the only one who could knock our 2 off centre. Hev seems to like playing Safarova, beat her in doubles yesterday as well. I think Hev will be GB number 1 by the end of year, with hopefully Laura just on her shoulder. Maybe Anne/Bally will be the doubles pairing come the next Fed Cup.
