While Laura was busy beating her quarter final opponent from Junior Wimbledon 2008, her second round opponent was winning her first ever title to complete a remarkable return to form.
I think today's match showed how Laura's game matches up well against other young players who will try and out hit her and she struggles more against experienced players who are more tactically astute and can exploit the weaker areas of Laura's game.
Also a 1st round win would probably take her into the top100 for the first time, don't think I'd mention it to her though.
No, me neither, though I was just thinking that too. If Laura drew Hev in R1, they might effectively be playing for a place in the top 100, though a R1 win for the latter might not quite be enough (it would put her between WR 100 and WR 101 on last week's list) and a win for the former might mean a very short stay unless she can win a roundf at Wimbledon again.
