So, 1 QWC for Chris Eaton. I was really hoping Fitzy would win today, not just because he posts here and has managed such a transformation this year but also because he's on the up (not to mention the only player who's more of a singles specialist than a doubles specialist who actually made it through to the QWC Finals today) and past experience suggests that even if Chris has a good run, he's unlikely to do much to build on it afterwards - much as I'd love him to prove me wrong one day.
It's not out of the question that more than 2 QWCs could go to those in the playoffs (it has happened before and Fitzy is the highest-ranked of those who made the last four), but if they do give the remaining QWCs to Brits, Bloomers has a very good case and Ed Corrie has a good case too, both having done well enough in Nottingham to be unable to take part in the playoffs. Of course, it could be argued that Fitzy had a better case than one or two of those who got QWCs without having to go through the playoffs, but that's a moot point now.

Steven's got it spot on, the last 2 QWC's have to be between Corrie, Bloomers and Fitzpatrick.
Bloomers looks the strongest applicant beating 3 players ranked higher than him this week and is known to be an excellent grass courter
Corrie has had a big win this week and pushed another top player when given the chance with a WC
Fitzy has probably had a better start of the year than Corrie and come through the play off process, as well as a good Queens quals showing but didnt put on the best show when given the WC at Notts a week ago
Evo kind of surprised me with his current form, after watching as mentioned his Davis Cup heroics, he has really nice game and looks to be suited to grass but for the remaining Wildcards, I think that the past couple of months should be taken into consideration and to not just look at the past 2 grass tournament to decide so therefore I am inclined to see fitz get one and not too sure of the other.
I'm pretty sure Evo has been ill for a while during the last 3 months. I seem to recall him missing a few events because of this, and probably had an impact on his ranking and his current form.
But rice and sean did not get a WC into doubles... Stupid LTA
From tweets tonight, it sounds like Oli & Liam have got a doubles WC but Dave & Sean haven't. I'm a big fan of Oli and Liam, but if that's true, it's shocking.

Ridiculous. I could kind of understand Broady/JWH doubles pairing but this is very unfair.
I know Sean and Dave well and to say they are devasted is an understatement. I am aware they struggle to find the money to compete as it is so the prize money that comes with a WC would have helped them enormously. They met the top 250 requirement and being the only players to have come through qualifying in any grand slam last year, and having seen the dedication and focus they have applied to doubles with some success, I thought they were nailed on for a WC. Their current form beating top 50 players only a week ago in doubles, and doing well at the WC playoffs ticked the current form box. I hear they are now totally confused and feel like they have been kicked in the teeth. I feel for them as they have been so let down by the system.
