RE: Wimbledon Wildcards

Ash Barty gets Main Draw Wildcard, so there are 2 QWC left so maybe both will go to Emily and Jade?

Fran seemed upset earlier, so it may be Jade and Emily with her missing out.

Katy and Anna were the last two in the play-offs. If neither of them get a WC one is left wondering what the play-offs were for, though it is difficult when so many of the other girls are achieving their career best wins. In the last two weeks Jade has beaten girls ranked 143 and 77 which does make a pretty strong case for inclusion.

Looks like Anne and Bally aren't going in then, funny as they;'ve done the last two tourneys.

I guess Anne and Bally must have made it in as a direct acceptance.

But Laura and Hev's dubs rankings are higher than Anne and Bally's.

Pleased to see Barty get one.
Big fan of the way she plays the game.
They should never have broken the precedent of giving a mdwc to junior champs in the first place.

I take it Jade would need to lose today to be able to take up her wildcard.

If Jade wins today, I think she should be given Hev's wildcard, and not be penalised for doing well. She's clearly proved that she can win a R1 MD match as she's beated WR 77.

The question is will Wimby see it like that?

I think the fact that she had already had WCs into French and Aussie without too much success was also taken into account. However winning Notts was proof that she should be capable of posing a threat with the right draw at Wimby.
