Phew, my fears were unfounded....Fitzy could still make it, will assume Jade & Lisa will get one anyway.

Full Playoff draw at http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=9CE3414D-BCB5-45D9-AC60-77A73735C7A0&d=20120613:

Covington v Horn
Borthwick v Silva
Ren v Gibson
Cornish v Banos Gregorians
Starling v Stephenson
Dunne v Rush
EWS v TBC
Fitzy v TBC

May be that Fitz & EWS are byes, I can't tell.

Surprised no Yaz, Mandy, Slater, Dean, Brown (injured?), Dart.

Hmmm, I must say I find the organisation of this whole thing apalling.

Having the WC playoff midweek (totally inexplicably!) means Fitzy, Jade & Lisa will likely not be able to be there (perhaps if they purposely lose the dubs today, but even so there may be a sign in, and Jade would be a definite no-no), yet none of them has a QWC.

If 3 of the players most deserving of a QWC can't be there, then why bother with the playoff at all?

I guess Em & Fran are the favourites now....

Tara was well outside the top 250 guidelines the LTA use for British WCs and had been having a very quiet first half of the year, albeit initially injury effected.  I would have been extremely surprised if she had been awarded a main draw WC.

However, that is quite a win today which while still not getting her close to the top 250 comes on top of an improving looking last few weeks. If noone else makes a strong case, then as jake suggests, I would think she might possibly be putting herself into consideration for one of the remaining 2 MD WCs.

Also Hev is currently 2 out from making the Main Draw and there are quite a few players like Petkovic, Silvia-Espinonsa who haven't pulled out yet but they are still in doubt of playing, so I'm sure Tara or Mel will replace Hevs Wildcard if this happens or both might even get in if like indiana says, no one else makes a strong case for one.

Mel will be up to about 255 after her win today.

Nothing to trouble Emily or Anna in play off draws. standard to me seems quite poor--mens draw much harder with evo number 1 sees

They do have R1 byes. A lot of surprising no-shows!

Clearly Bally/Annie matchup is all about the Olympics .Gives Bally a second option if she doesn't get into singles.

A typically "British press" like article about Jo's WC has appeared in today's Metro. It heavily implies that her switch was WC motivated - ignoring the 4 year limbo trauma she has been through. the stellar Brum results are tacked onto the end... But Ward's defeat is of course flagged up in a big article. disgraceful journalism.

Kaia Kanepi has apparently withdrew from Wimbledon so Hev is currently one out from making Main Draw without Wildcard.
