Really hoping Bally comes through to set up the clash with Heather. I believe they are the only combination of the top four who haven't played each other.

Edit: Actually, I think Laura's never played Bally either.

Having watched some of Tara v Mel last week, I wouldn't have put any money on either of them winning a set today nevermind 2 victories. Wow!

I was watching that match as well and totally agree with you.  Very impressive victories for both today though.

Not headline news compared to the earlier results, but still a very impressive result for Laura against the in form Grace Min, winning 6-4 6-1

Yes 4 wins out of 5 is amazing, and before the sart of play I would have had Bally and Heather as the most likely winners and they are the ones still to play

We occasionally get these days when one win seems to inspire everyone else.

Heather on course to keep the run going

6-4 1-1*

This is only the 3rd time in the 31-year history of Birmingham WTA that 4 Brits have reached R2 - 1982, 1985 & 2009 were the others.

Unless I missed something when I trawled through, there have never been more than 4 Brits in R2 before - so come on Hev & Bally!
