I've just looked at this! how embarrassing, I recognise philwrig - if that's you 2nd on the right - I was the person who asked you to move out of my seat!! near the beginning of Laura's match.  I'll say hello properly next time!

I'm coming tomorrow after 4pm if the weather's OK, and then Thursday daytime, again assuming weather OK, I'll look out for you guys!

I did think you were quite knowledgeable for a typical Edgbaston spectator. I think I may have spotted you then later on in the week during Hev's match with Vinci. Where you sitting in the front row behind the umpire's chair to the right ? Next time hopefully I can say a proper hello !

Hi,yes sounds probable! I was there most of Thursday, saw heather vs Vinci, and Macaroni/erakovitch. actually behind base line umpire chair, front row.

Yep, I guess form is temporary ( which had been awful for a while for Oudin ), the basic talent remains, and Oudin has clearly really found her form again ( I believe she likes playing on grass ) with some more encouraging results of late now leading to this.  I believe she has had a coaching change fairly recently ?

Oudin came through qualifying, so played around 8 matches and 3 out of 5 in the main draw were 3-setters (not in doubles).

Jankovitch had a 1st rd bye, beat Mel in straights, then through by a walkover, had a straight sets win over Doi, and 3 sets in the semi over Zheng I think, 7 sets altogether.  there were a lot of top seeds out in the first round or second round - I can only conclude it's lack of grass match practice.

Being strictly accurate the finals score was 6-4, 6-2.
