Yes, I think there was a bit of luck for Hev. Bally had a late match last night, which was finished this morning, then to have an interrupted match this evening must have been difficult. She has a strict dietary regime, to manage a liver related health problem, I believe and the timing and uncertainty of her matches will have put a strain on this I'm sure.

But guys bear in mind Bally had to play two matches yesterday. Lets not get over excited, most players would be knackered after that. I still have lots of faith in Bally

Tara & Mel get in as alternates for Daniilidou & Krajicek & fought a pretty good fight, but couldn't quite pull it off:

R1:  Vera Dushevina & Tamarine Tanasugarn (RUS/THA) defeated (ALT) Tara Moore & Mel South by 5-7 6-1 [10-1]

Looks as though the girls just ran out of steam after the first set & all their opponents had to do was be patient! hmm
