I was at Nottingham today. Got there around 1.15 and left just as Flemchins were taking the first set.
The schedule was all over the place; they did a revised one that bore no relation to who was playing on whatever court...
Difficiult to watch some of the matches, 3 courts in aciton for mens but could only really see nearest in decent detail.
Laides 2 courts on the go; Bally looked very determined.
Hev was playing same time on the further court and I think just outplayed.
By about 4pm it was difficult to keep track of everything - but it was an enjoyable day indoors out of the ruddy rain!!

On another topic (and aware that this isn't probably the right thread for it) just to note (via Zootennis) that Neil Skuspki was announced as All American in singles and Ashley Watling in doubles. Does anyone know if either of them is going to return for the grass season?

Goodall/Ward's match was probably the best quality match. TB was really ding-dong until Ram hit a stone dead net cord at 8-8, it hit the bottom of the tape, bounced up hit the top of the tape and trickled over. Josh and James were creaming the ball from the back of the court and Josh's volleys were excellent. One poor volley miss from Wardy at *6-5 in the MTB was perhaps the turning point after they had played two very high quality points to win two points against serve before that.

Treat Huey seemed a very good player, very good from the back of the court and had amazing hand speed at the net and got up really close to net as well.

In the other matches Thornley and Rice always seemed in control, good to see Fletch back a bit rusty went down an early break but Oli sent in a couple of doubles they broke back and they just had the better doubloes tactics after that. Delgado and Skupski had the better of the first set until they let the TB slip away after being 3-0* up. Missed Jonny's match it was so quick.

Treat and Dom into 1st-set TB, (c'mon lads). Jonny and Freddie lead 6-1 *5-4, (c'mon lads). Make that a win for the latter pair:6-1 6-4.

Should also say what a great win for Doc and Sean.

Not looking good at the moment:  first set down the pan by 4-6. cry  1-2* in the second... hmm

Booty & de Voest seem bent on going on a Brit-bashing spree here:  they took the first set by 7-6(4), while it's 4-3* in the second...

Signs of an upturn in the boys' fortunes:  they've got the break back.  It's now *4-4 in the second...
