Bah! Ah well good to see Anne winning consecutive matches again. I think playing a match or 2 on her favourite surface of indoor hard may have helped her. Onwards to Brum for her :)
Bad day at the office for Anne, dare I say it that she took advantage of a kind draw this week. Her ball striking just not it's best all week. Sitting court side we were all willing her to change tactics and try and play a few slices. Her head went down very quickly and the American was the comfortable winner. I think Bally and Hev should be happy how they played this week, Anne and Laura with work to be done.

Did you tell them that
Certainly not !
Just really saying that Anne and Laura have the greatest room for improvement, which is a good thing. Laura played well yesterday, just not today, but she is quicker than last year, just needs to find greater consistency and she will be fine. Anne played well enough for 3 rounds without being in top form, but was bitterly disappointing today.
Well I'd say Anne has to now be first pick for a GB Olympics WC, a deserved reward for her overall consistency over the last year relative to the other girls.
Any chance she can get in directly ? i.e. how high would she likely have to be ranked ?

I read they make the wild card selections on the first Thursday of Wimbledon so maybe they will use the rankings as of then as a guide?
Yes, I was thinking later that the WC decision seems rather later than the rankings cut-off date so a chance for others to put in claims.
