Bally beat Urszula on clay in Prague pretty convincingly 3 weeks ago. Like Bally though, this Radwanska sister seems to prefer faster surfaces judging by where she has had the most success in ITFs. They are the only two seeds left in the top half and have been since the end of R1.

Well I'd say Anne has to now be first pick for a GB Olympics WC, a deserved reward for her overall consistency over the last year relative to the other girls.
Any chance she can get in directly ? i.e. how high would she likely have to be ranked ?

There are 56 direct acceptances and it looks to me like the cut will go out 8 places on the basis of the 4 per country rule. WR 64 is currently Hsieh on 976 points.
Winning the title here would give Anne 896 points, with WR 72 having 897 on last Monday's list and 896 enough for WR 70 on the in-running list, so if she won the title, she'd need about 6-10 withdrawals, with withdrawals from countries with more than 4 players above her not being any help, of course.
Not impossible, but unlikely ... and she really needs to win the title here to have any chance.
