A nice-looking draw for Nicola - she beat McLean 1 & 3 in R1 in Landisville two weeks ago.

Oh my ... no results on either drawsheet yet (ITF or USTA) but the OoP for tomorrow is showing (Q) McLean v (Q) Addison

That would though mean one thing more shocking than Nicola losing to someone she beat so easily just 2 weeks ago - 4th seed Kukharchuk (unless she withdrew and was replaced by a lucky loser) must also have lost to an unranked qualifier in R1.

The 4th seed did lose to an unranked qualifier ... as did the top seed. Which makes it all the more unfortunate that Nicola, it turns out, had to retire.
