In all the hoopla, it could be forgotten that her fastest serve was 179kmph (111mph). Perhaps she has started hitting the dumbbells now that she is 20. hehe

And 5 aces!
She said in that ITV interview yesterday that she'd been working on her serving action with her coach a lot recently, so it's greeat to see it working so effectively so soon
Heather has now won 8 matches at Roland Garros in 2 years, all in straight sets, against just one loss.
Görges seems to be more of a clay court specialist than I first thought though - all of her ITF and WTA singles titles have come on clay. Who'd bet against Hev giving her a scare though!

This is what really stood out today, 179 kmh is actually closer to 112mph !
Her average 1st serve speed was a whopping 167kmh (104mph). Compare that to her epic match with Maria at the US open when her max was 103mph and average just 94mph. Second serve speeds were also impressive.
Very impressive 1st set from Hev, became a bit tentitive in the second off the ground, but overall her serving was by far the best I've ever seen. Her ranking is going rise dramatically in the second half of the year with little points to defend if she continues to serve like that.
Also winnable 2nd round match if she plays like she did in the 1st set, Georges is not in great form.
I will always remember Goerges winning Stuttgart on clay last year. She's an amazing player but is very up and down. Heather will have a reasonable outside shot at an upset if she can play to her very best.
