Yes!! Well done Laura, tough match negotiated and a useful 40 points too.

A shame Naomi lost but overall a good day.

The actual live updating scoreboard wasn't working properly for me, so I went to the one where you have to refresh manually.

Not that surprised that Laura won by doing well on serve. In the sunshine on a hot day, Roland Garros tends to be a decent surface for aggressive players with a big serve. Totally different when it's cold and overcast!

Except Naomi only held hers once and she is a top server. Its been very wet in Paris leading up to today so I'm not certain conditions would have been that fast.

There was a 90 second refresh on one of the livescore pages whch is ridiculous for a grand slam.

Anyways top effort by Laura, she really loves playing in the grand slams, now 6/6 in 1QR.

Naomi served 45% first serves in play with 2 aces and 3 dfs. Winning just 17% on her 2nd serve. Also 0/6 on bp chances. I suspect she performed as poorly as she did against Anne at Wimbledon last year. Naomi seems to have days when she's just horrible.
