I hope that lose from MP position doesn't end up hurting her mentally. :/ That could dent many a players progression. Hope she just looks at the positives and progresses. :)

In the past Laura has tended to benefit from defeats rather than wins, so I wouldn't be worried about her. She's a fighter and this loss will frustrate her and she will comeback stronger.

Good effort from Laura. I expected it to be close and it was.

Heather has drawn Vesnina. Seems winnable.

Laura would have got Bartoli ( badly out of form) but still very tough.
Vesnina got to the final in Budapest recently, but has had a difficult year, possibly winnable but still tough IMO.

Yeah, she's pretty up and down is Vesnina.
Hopefully she will be down and not up.
But if she's only half way up, she'll be neither up nor down.

Hev has played her before, so that should help.

Vesnina has played french open 6 times and only won one match- got to say Heather stands a chance

Very dissapointing from laura. She seemed in complete control then choked it away. AGAIN!

Certainly very frustrating following Laura's match today, I can't remember her losing from match points up before.

I suspect there might have been a few tears from her this evening but she does seem to be able to bounce back well from tough defeats and hopefully she is in a good position for the grass court season ahead.

According to Judy, Laura is 1st alternate, not sure about that, but anyways worth hanging around.

Real pity for Laura but she's generally played better on the clay than I was expecting a few weeks ago.

I agree that while it will be a big disappointment not to make the main draw she'll has bouncebackability and I am quite hopeful for the grass season.

Still earned 50 ranking points as against 60 for making the main draw where she would probably have had to play really well and / or get a very good draw to have hopes of further progression.
