I was thinking that Laura had a decent chance of winning some matches here provided she avoided any clay court specialists, so not good news to see a Spaniard and an Argentine in her section. Heather muist have a great chance of repeating her qualification of last year though and Naomi's section isn't too bad if she gets past a tough round 1 opponent.
Heather on 1st on court 6 - 9am BST
Naomi 4th on court 14
Laura 4th on court 16

Please, Maza, if you're going to refer to any Spanish/Latin American tennis player by only one surname (which I normally do, in line with the practice on the TeniSpain web site), use the first one, which is his/her father's, not the second, which is his/her mother's. On that basis, it's Estrella (which means "star", by the way, not to mention being the name of a well-known Catalan beer! ) Cabeza (which means "head", while candela means "candle" or "candlestick", so her full name translated equates to "Star Head Candlestick"... Sounds much better in Spanish somehow! ).

It really is a name and a half, isn't it. I'd been looking forward to dropping that in at some stage tomorrow
It is, indeed, Steven, & it's been exercising my linguist's brain for some time. Earlier this evening, something just snapped. Sorry to rain on your parade!
Edit: To be charitable (sort of!), I suppose the "stick" bit of "candle" should by rights have been in parenthesis!

BROADY, Naomi GBR vs KARATANTCHEVA, Sesil KAZ [14] WATSON, Heather GBR [5] vs FICHMAN, Sharon CAN ROBSON, Laura GBR [15] vs CABEZA CANDELA, Estrella ESP
QR1: Naomi Broady WR 195 v (q14) Sesil Karatantcheva (KAZ) WR 125 (CH 35 in 2005)
Karatantcheva was of course a quarter-finalist at RG before her doping ban - she has never been quite the same since but it's still a tough draw for Naomi. The other seed in this section is (4) Amanmuradova.
QR1: (q5) Heather Watson WR 109 v Sharon Fichman (CAN) WR 211 (CH 114 in 2010)
The other seed in this section is (19) Nara, with Barrois and junior RG Champ Jabeur also in there.
QR1: (q15) Laura Robson WR 126 v Estrella Cabeza Candela (ESP) WR 159 (CH 140 in Mar)
The other seed in this section is her old foe from juniors (11) Karolina Pliskova. Nasty section.

Karatantcheva is also in decent form, so Naomi's draw at second glance isn't great either. You'd have to say that Hev should qualify if she is fit and healthy whereas both Naomi and Laura look up against it with regards to making any progress.
I don't know much about Candela, but she is a Spaniard, so you would presume it's tough. Naomi will do well to win a match. Hoping Heather can qualify.

Candela has beaten 2 top 100 players in her last 2 tournaments both on clay, so very tough.
