Week 21 - ITF ($10K) - Getxo, Spain Clay

Based on a quick skim through her ITF activity, this appears to be her opponent's first senior ITF in Europe - she has reached her current ranking through South and Central American events plus one foray to North Africa a couple of years ago.

She is also the younger sister of former world no. 41 (now WR 109) Horacio Zeballos.

Big win for Amanda, particularly the scoreline

She lost to the Ukrainian in a 10K SF (a big match for her) in Badalona 3 years ago.

Revenge is sweet ...

R2: CARRERAS, Amanda (GBR) 529 beat KRYVORUCHKO, Yevgeniya (UKR) 636 by 2 & 3

QF: CARRERAS, Amanda (GBR) 529 v PAQUET, Chloé (FRA) 860 (who took out a seed today)

Amanda didn't reach any singles QFs until late April, but this is now her 4th QF in 5 weeks!

Well done Amanda  winner.gif

That is her 4th $10K singles title.

Her best result so far at $25K was a QF loss in 2010, maybe her recent good form will give her the confidence to push on to even greater heights. smile

That should of course have had an "outside the UK" in it, Jade Windley having won Bournemouth, which I somehow failed to put on the titles list (and even more shockingly, nobody had corrected me on it since dohwink)
