Elena has lost the 3 times she has played Stephanie while Anne is 2-1 up in matches against Alexandra.

They could both do with putting their last matches against their opponents well and truly behind them, Bally having lost to SFG at the AO when it had seemed like a nice draw and Anne getting thrashed by Wozniak last summer, though she had comprehensively beaten the Canadian earlier in the year.

The winner of Bally's match is likely to play no. 1 seed Lisicki in R2, while the winner of Anne's match is likely to get no. 2 seed Schiavone!

Bally 2nd on the main court tomorrow, not before 11.30 BST.

Zakopalová withdrew with illness and Wozniak has been moved up to 9th seed to take her place, so Anne now gets a qualifier instead

 A goodish draw, Lucic is very up and down, but more down than up this year.
