Ed Corrie might actually get a seeding in the main draw here - a far cry from all those 4-round Futures qualifying draws he was having to play earlier in the year!

As far as I can remember, this is the first time Ed has been seeded in a Futures main draw - a far cry from earlier in the year when he was regularly slogging through 4 rounds of qualifying just to get into them!
Jordan Cox hit a career high 449 just a couple of months ago but Ed beat him 4 & 2 in Vero Beach just 2 weeks ago.
I'll edit the remaining qualifying results into the top post.

So Ed gets seeded for once and unusually doesn't make the QFs!
His R1 match was his 50th singles match (in Challengers and Futures, including qualifying) of the year so far. Given that it's usually touch and go whether the most active player of the year globally breaks the 100 game barrier or not, 50 by mid-May is a lot! He won 36 of those matches, picking up 20 ranking points (which seems scant reward for that much effort) in 15 tournaments.

It does maybe seem a huge amount of matches, and more particularly wins, for Ed with not too much reward ( his playing in the big US qualifiers contributing to this ).
But I actually do think he has pretty good reward now going forward. From a low base he has first got himself out of having qualifying and now indeed will on occasions be seeded. That makes life much easier and puts him in a position now to play many fewer matches and have some easier draws, meaning in future if he continues to play decent tennis and indeed improve, he will benefit from all his hard work, and wins will bring much more reward.
I do often feel I see the plus side and am maybe more a glass half full person than one or two in this forum Certainly to my mind nothing to be furious about.
