L32: (7) Jamie Baker WR 215 v Vishnu Vardhan (IND) WR 385 (CH 312 last May)
Jamie needs to match his seeding here (i.e. reach the QFs) to be virtually certain of getting inside the top 200. Just a R1 win might be enough but probably not. Vardhan is unlikely to be easy though - he won Uzbekistan F2 in Andijan at the end of April.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
The last week we had 3 men in the top 200 was w/c 19 October 2009, when Muzz was ranked 4, Boggo had just jumped 53 places to WR 185 after winning the Kolding Challenger and James Ward was WR 196 but just about to drop out of the top 200 at the end of his first stint of 6 weeks in there.
I think that was the only week Muzz, Boggo and Wardy were all in the top 200 at the same time. Before that, Muzz, Boggo and Josh Goodall were in the top 200 together for quite a few weeks on and off between 17 Nov 2008, when Josh first entered the top 200, and 6 Jul 2009, when Boggo dropped out of it temporarily.
James and Josh have never been in the top 200 together - Josh left it for the last time on 3 Aug 2009 and James joined it for the first time 6 weeks later.
For possible future reference, the last time we ended a year with more than 2 players in the top 200 was 2006, when the 4 were Muzz, Tim, Boggo and Greg and then we had a few more weeks with 4 in the top 200 in the first half of 2007 after Greg dropped out but Bloomers came in.
The last time we had 4 in the top 200 was 25 Jun 2007, when Muzz was ranked 8, Tim 74, Boggo at his career high 108 and Bloomers at 194 just before Wimbledon 2007. Richard then dropped out as his points for beating Berlocq at Wimbledon 2006 came off.
E&OE (but it should all be correct unless I have completely forgotten someone who doesn't play any more but was ranked in the top 200 in 2007 or later)

I'd copied the Bordeaux title and must have just forgotten to change the 8 to a 3. Also, I hadn't thought to check whether there was an existing thread for the simple reason that apart from the biggest events (slams, DC), tournament threads don't usually start until there's a Brit in a draw and there hadn't been any Brits in qualifying.
Anyway, no harm done - merged and title amended as necessary.

Agreed & cheers!
I see I'm not the only one to fall foul of one of the pitfalls of the copying & pasting lark! I remembered (unusual for me! ) from that interesting Herald on Sunday article kindly posted by huntley93 a week or so ago that Jamie B was going to be here this week, so I thought might as well start a thread for it once I'd done the Bordeaux one, even though the main draw hadn't been posted!

no problem! i follow tennis scotland on facebook and they had the link, were also giving updates from athens last week. alot more that what official british tennis were doing!
Vardhan held to 15 with 2 aces then got to 0-40 on Jamie's first service game, but the Scot saved all 3 bps and has since been ad up 3 times but after 4 deuces, there's another bp for Vardhan ... saved, deuce no. 5.
