A sense of déjà vu when you said Dean Martin ... and indeed, we've been here before when middle names were shown on the Commonwealth Games draw a couple of years ago - see http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/index.spark?aBID=61841&p=3&topicID=38539227&page=1

Steven, that link merely takes you back to the first page of this thread! confuse  I don't recall bothering to read the thread to which you refer.  I simply did a bit of digging when I started to see people referring to James as "Dino" & made the connection with Dean Martin without any other prompting.

Very weird. If I copy that link and paste it into the address bar, it brings up the Commonwealth Games thread, but I get the same (i.e. back to this thread) when I just click on it above. confuse

It was you who mentioned the possible Dean Martin link on the CG thread

Oh, was it?   My memory must be doing its best impression of a sieve - again... ashamed

Didn't think of copying & pasting the link into the address bar, by the way, & was too lazy to go looking for it among the back pages, so I simply clicked on the link. wink

Would you Adam & Eve it?   disbelief

R1:  (1) Carsten Ball (AUS) & Jamie Murray vs Jamie Delgado & Ken Skupski bleh

Delgo won it last year in tandem with Jonny M.  They were seeded fourth & beat the third seeds, Benneteau & Mahut, by 5 & 3 in the final.

Was just about to post about that match up!!!
Ken has tweeted they might be playing tomorrow:
"Just arrived at the club in Bordeaux. A little cooler here. Potentially on the schedule tomorrow vs top seeds Jamie Murray / Carsten Ball."

Doing better with sportlemon streams

Game and first set to DelSki 7'6(5). Pretty close tbh.  2 DF's in the TB from Murray didn't help.

Squeaky-bum time for Jonny & Olivier:  they won the first set by 6-2, but lost the second on a tie-break by 6-7(3). hmm

Can't believe I missed that!  That said, I was in shock after seeing Delgo's & Skups' first-round draw!  So, the defending champions both return to the scene of their triumph - with different partners!  Good luck to both.
